What are the invoice requirements to import into the United States

The invoice requirements are the following:

  • An adequate and legible description of the merchandise (industry codes and abbreviations are not acceptable).
  • The quantities, value and currency of the merchandise.
  • The name and complete address of the foreign individual or firm who is responsible for the invoicing of the merchandise.
  • The manufacturer of the merchandise if other than above.
  • Name and complete address of the buyer of the merchandise.
  • IRS or Social Security number of the buyer of the merchandise.
  • The name and complete address of the consignee of the merchandise if other than above.
  • IRS or Social Security number of the consignee of the merchandise.
